LANDS OF AREZZO: CASENTINO

From Arezzo one can follow the Arno river back to its origin in the Valley of Casentino.
Here the mountains are shaped like an amphitheatre with sloping fields that are boarded 
by ancient chestnut woods of Natural Park of Casentino Forests. A succession of 
important events saw the creation of religious and military buildings and artistic objects of
the highest quality. Castles (like in Poppi), monasteries, hermitages (Chiusi della Verna),
churches, paintings, Robbia terracottas, are the range of sights to see.
